REFLECTING ART IN LIFE, AND LIFE IN ART

Reflecting art in life, and life in art

Transforming an ordinary nail into an iconic piece of jewellery takes spectacular vision, not to mention ingenuity.

But that’s exactly what Italian-American designer Aldo Cipullo did when he dreamed up this cutting-edge Clou bracelet in 1970s New York.

“We are surrounded by things that are screwed, bolted, and nailed,” remarked Cipullo. “The Clou bracelet is a reflection of life.”

The result: a radical, uncompromising piece of jewellery that breaks all the rules. Distinguished by clean, sweeping lines, Juste un Clou is at once edgy and sophisticated – just as suited to the arm of a rock-and-roll legend as it is to the wrist of a glamorous royal.

Add drama with the all-gold diamond edition, with its diamond-encrusted contours and pointed tip, or stack different variations for a chic layered look. No matter how they’re styled, the meticulously detailed proportions are nothing short of extraordinary.

The Juste un Clou mimics the design of a nail – an everyday object that is nonetheless striking in the purity of its design.

Created in 1970, the Juste un Clou bracelet is the reflection of a non-conformist, rebellious and provocative era.

The bracelet is available in 23 models and three golds: rose, yellow or white.

At a slender 3.5mm wide, the small model can be set with delicate diamonds at its head, its tip, or at the middle to add sparkle to the heart of the piece. It can also be customised in a «  »double-clou » » style to wrap around the wrist more easily.

The larger version is 8.5mm wide and can be adorned with 1,752 diamonds for a grand total of 27.60 carats. On the diamond-paved tip, the gradation of cut enhances the overall effect of the piece with greater depth of volume and perspective.

On the bracelet’s band, five grooves are engraved in a reference to flat-headed hardware nails, which bear identical markings. On the all-gold bracelet, the intricacy of detail goes even further, with diamonds embedded in the grooves and at the end of the faceted tip.

On the diamond versions, the setting can be adjusted to complement the shape and geometry of the chosen design (four different settings are available for the Juste un Clou).

The clasp system is designed to embody the precision of pure geometric lines, and is integrated between the head of the nail element and its point.
